Cattle raised naturally on open pastures. No animal is ever put in CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations).
Cattle start their lives on pasture but are later moved to controlled feedlots.
Cattle eat their natural diet of grass, and may receive other grasses when weather conditions interrupts grazing.
These cattle are fed grain, such as, corn and soy. They may also be given animal byproducts, such as, bone, blood and sometimes even feather meal.
Because these animals only feed on grass and get plenty of exercise, the meat has 1/3 of the fat compared to grain fed cattle. This meat contains 3X the heart healthy omega 3s, less inflammatory omega 6s, more CLA (which can reduce the risk of coronary artery disease, cancer, arthritis, and other inflammatory autoimmune diseases) and 4X more Vitamin E/higher levels of other antioxidants than grain fed beef.
Due to grain-based diet and extended time in feedlots, the meat is higher in fat and lower in key nutrients found in grass.
Never given antibiotics or growth hormones.
Routinely given hormones to speed growth, as well as, antibiotics and other drugs to prevent the spread of disease in feedlots.
Our fresh beef is source verified and carefully packed to ensure, not only the safest, but also the most delicious product on the market!
Grass-fed beef contains more conjugated linoleic acid, a type of fat that reduces the risks of heart disease and cancer, than grain-fed beef!
